Yes, Its compatible with all versions of CentOS,Fedora,Debian,Windows.

Yes, but for checkout'ing Hercules, you can use two ways

either

svn checkout http://svn.github.com/HerculesWS/Hercules.git

or

git clone https://github.com/HerculesWS/Hercules.git
