Old xRay Clients,always loved them. So sad everything got wiped..

That's the "New eAthena" that has died pretty much once again thanks to Para. The old eAthena is in the forum archives.

Also, Xray use the be the old way of getting Clients. They didn't have all this lua/lub, system folder, etc. back in the day

. Just ran off of multiple .txt files in the /data folder. Search Xray in the eAthena archives and you'll see.

Xray was a client modification by Meruru,

before all the lua/lub stuff, all the data inside the lua was hardcoded in to the client

which made adding items pretty hard.

Meruru rewrote functions that read the hardcoded data, and made it read from txt files.

still annoyed he didnt opensource it (Meruru ?)

i wouldn't have made it open source either.

basically every server out there is going to make loadsamoney off my work, and no one else can do it. i'd be a gatekeeper as long as i could. he was pretty generous considering the free clients could've been a lot worse than an xray advertisement on login. could've charged a lot more for the paid clients too.

Yes, i understand that,

I meant at the end when he had finished and stopped working,

He once sent me some source files, but nothing of the core xray code.

@offtopic Is there any customization that was there in Xray which has not been transferred to lua yet?
