No, for me new itemdb overhaul is more easier and convenient to use

doesnt need to edit item_db.conf if you want to edit anything, you only need to use item_db2.conf and inherit your data..

why you prefer item_db.txt? are you confuse or something?

To answer your question: No, the old format used by the old item_db.txt is now incompatible and thus no longer supported.
