Guide setting up 2013+ Client for Hercules

I've got this problem too. and  used fixed version of 2014 April client.

What do you mean checked setup/opensetup? On my side, those are both present, and are at the default settings.

In fact, back when I messed up my diffing, they keep popping out. Which was really annoying.

As for my video card being present, I don't have any other means of video processing other than my video card.

It's an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 btw.

I also have 32 gigs of ram, just putting it out there.

As for the UAC, those were the first things I did. I even experimented with default settings, to no avail. The app still plain crashes.

Ok, because i can't figure out what is the problem with the crash,

let's make a wild guess,

maybe it's client translation project that cause it (i made a lot of change this month, dunno which files that cause it).

Let's use this step,

patch your client with "read data folder",

don't add english.grf to your DATA.ini,

copy your clientinfo.xml, then try to open your client,

still crash? then it's not client translation project's fault.

Some people said its work on "old machine" but not work with newer machine (win 7 and 8),

maybe OS related problem.

I think the problem is from updated kRO. I did test on my outdated kRO and it works fine.

They're the same OS, the only difference are in the hardware.

The difference in software would have to be that the old machine had versions of .net 3-4.5 while the new one only has 4.5

Not sure if that's even going to help anything, but i doubt it makes any real difference.

 
i have problem running the client.

using this guide,

- download latest kro from http://www.nickyzai.com/?p=kro (20150301)

- updating with rag and renewal lite.

- using 20140416 ragexe client version, patched with nemo with the recommended diffs (tried with/out read data folder first).

- using data folder and system/font + iteminfo.lua from client-translation-project.

- editing clientinfo.xml

patched client always crash.

OS : Win7 x64 Home Premium

and i dont install any RO Client ever since i fresh install Win7.

Any Clue ? the exception code are always 0xc0000005

i can read your comment clearly.

That's error mean that you're not using the latest KRO client.

 
if you already download the 20150303 client from nickyzai then its alright,

just download happy's premade client pack

extract happy's client then move data.grf and rdata.grf from nickyzai to happy's client folder

move bgm folder too if you wish to hear the music

then patch any client u want it wont crash anymore

if u ever need to update your client again move back the data and rdata.grf to nickyzai folder

then run the updater

nickyzai's 20150303 exe

is corrupt i believe thats why so many crash reported here.

 
as darkalucard say, it seems that data.grf and rdata.grf from nickyzai's release is ok, but maybe some dll are corrupt so the client crashed.

im using from roclients.info release and its working fine.

 
Hey people!

I tried setting up my test server and it worked "To a degree"...

This is the problem I'm currently encountering. It let's me select my server name in my client but it then times me out after attempting to connect. Anyone know the reason behind this?

 
Hey guys. So I did everything in the guide. Everything works fine but for some reason there are still some words that aren't translated. Some of them are the message tab box where you can type messages and the quests. Otherwise, all of them are in english. Is there a way to fix it? Thanks in advance.
