Hercules, rAthena or 3CeAM?

I saw in this topic -> http://herc.ws/board/topic/503-what-difference-bitween-hercules-rathena-3cema-eathena/ that the eAthena is "dead"  and that the current emulators in english are Hercules, rAthena 3CeAM and was wondering what the real difference between them.
