  1. This is probably a pretty basic question, but I've noticed players aren't able to share exp in a party. I've looked in a few different places, conf/inter-server.conf (to change the range for shareable party exp), conf/battle/battle.conf, conf/battle/party.conf, conf/battle/exp.conf. The closest feature I could find aside from party_share_level is party_even_share_bonus in party.conf, but setting this to 10 also didn't help. At the end of the day, it seems the ability to share party exp is turned off on my server. If someone could point me in the right direction, that would be awesome.
  2. I have seen this issue addressed in the Q&A, though the suggestions there did not seem to fix the issue for me. As you can see here: Items are unreadable: However, other text is fine: I have tried a few things to fix this. As per the FAQ, I re-downloaded itemInfo.lua from the translation pack, ensured it has information in English, and used the batch file to turn it into an LUA file. I have also tried to use the GRF file from here: https://rathena.org/board/topic/97298-rotranslateden-just-add-to-ini/ and of course I have added it to my DATA.INI file. I have had no change in the item names and descriptions though. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thank you! FIXED-- Sorry for the premptive post. As it turns out this was in fact an issue of PEBCAK (problem exists between chair and keyboard). The new itemInfo.lub file fixed the issue. However, it was not in the correct directory. Now everything is good and readable!
  3. Okay, I have fixed the issue. Though I don't believe the website linked above, as it even shows port 80 as being closed. I found my answer on the Herc wiki. The problem is, I followed a forums guide on creating a server for local play, so it did not include putting my WAN IP into map-server.conf and char-server.conf. With my WAN IP in there people can connect no problem!
  4. Thank you for your suggestion officialronode. I've made a few changes. Turns out I messed up port forwarding, so I fixed that up. NOW it seems that they are able to connect to the Login server, as they connect, and their account is created. However, after account creation, I get the message "Closed connection from x.x.x.x" in loginserver.exe. To me this seems that they are able to access the Login server, but not make it past that. The website you linked however, shows these ports as CLOSED. So this could also certainly be causing the issue.. Though I'm not sure why it would allow them into the login server if the port is closed. I will see if I can open them. I have made rules in my local firewall to allow to/from IP traffic from any IP. I'll report back if I can open the ports and if anything changes. Thank you!
  5. Hello Everyone, I am new to Hercules, though in the past I have ran TXT servers (around 2005-2007). I've recently decided to start a new server for myself and my friends to play on. I think I've done pretty well with the setup, I just need some help on the client side. I downloaded, configured and compiled Hercules, and it is running no problem. I downloaded the 2015-06-01 client here: https://www.nickyzai.com/?p=kro I followed this guide to get my own client working properly: http://herc.ws/board/topic/1653-guide-setting-up-2013-clients/ Once I did that, I was able to connect on the local computer and play. However, I then changed the IP in my clientinfo.xml, zipped up the Ragnarok folder, and sent it to a friend to try, who is unable to connect. I have forwarded port 6900 through my router, and even temporarily turned off my local firewall, and put the computer in the network DMZ to test. Still, they were unable to connect. I notice with the client setup guide listed above, loki.exe launches LocalRO.exe. I am wondering if this could cause an issue, as it seems to be local, as in the exe name. Since then, I have tried a few other options including this guide: http://herc.ws/board/topic/8894-guide-setting-up-2013-client-for-hercules/ However, after following that on a seperate RO folder, it seems to have affected all my clients. I am going to delete all my client folders and start over. Like I said, the server itself is working fine, it is only client-side issues I am facing right now. If anyone has any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.
