    Little Backstory

    A Couple of months ago I joined a server that has been online for over 10 years (it still uses ea, yes it sucks because it really limits what we can do in scripting & content but we can upgrade later...)

    Right now our biggest issue is that we are getting DDOS constantly on WoE Hours and our current host just null routes us, so we are loosing users, having this awkward "downtime" and since we are a "small-ish" server (80-100 people on peak/woe hours) we dont need (and cant afford on the longterm) a big dedicated server, Ive been looking around here, and on RMS and rA forums and a lot of people seem to recommend OVH VPS as a cheap alternative with DDOS protection

    Some Info

    Most of the users are from Mexico, so any US-based host is fine

    We currently pay $45~ for our current host (Ramnode) 

    We would like to keep it under $50

     

    So any recommendations will be taken, and if you use OVH I would like to hear pros and cons

    Hi Shatowolf,

     

    Ive got no idea why but that seems to have worked?.... no errors or anything...? Can't help but feel it may have been a DNS caching problem. All working. Will drop an update after disabling debug mode and show exceptions, incase it causes issues!

    Hi all,

     

    Having an issue with connecting Flux to the database, It just seems to time out after 20-30 seconds! 

     

    Bit of background, i'm hosting the FluxCP on a webserver  I managed to get it setup / installed  by setting up a local sql database on the webserver with all the herc files, then re-uploaded them to the dedibox. (Jumping through hoops, eh?) Atleast now i'm not stuck on the installation page, however if I try to go anywhere inside of the panel, it times out after a period of time and displaysss;

An error occurred while trying to process your request.

Please try contacting an administrator: admin@localhost

    I've tried enabling debug mode, no luck, doesn't give me any info. I've made sure that the webhost server isn't blocking off ports 3306, and that php is able to connect to external SQL Databases, i've checked permissions, i've recreated the fluxcp database user, i've checked passwords, i've checked the forum, but still no luck, even checked rAthena's board, but no luck. Server doesn't have a firewall yet, i'm able to connect to the sql database using Navicat with the fluxcp credentials, I even swapped the fluxcp user over to % on the database incase it was me giving the incorrect ip! Slightly tearing my hair out here! I think the next thing i'm going to do (Which I don't think will help, but C'est la vie!) is swap it over to it's own hosting / own domain to clear off any problems on that side. (It's currently on a subdomain for testing purposes!)

     

    Any insights or ideas would be great. I can't help but feel it's going to be something really simple that i'm missing, and i'm going to feel like an idiot, but I just can't think what it'll be yet!

    @TS: i am also using OVH for years if your living in PH you can apply for Union Eon card (500pesos only) and enroll it online link it on paypal/ovh works well.

    There are 5 rooms, each room shows how many players are in the room!

     

    Room 1: PvP Ranking (Opens at 6:00 p.m. and closes at 8:00 p.m.)

    Room 2: GvG Ranking (It opens at 6:00 p.m. and closes at 8:00 p.m.)

    Room 3: PvP No Ranking

    Room 4: GvG No Ranking

    Room 5: Party No Ranking (with menu to choose 2x2 | 3x3 | 4x4 | 5x5)

     

    Obs: In rooms 3 to 4 would have an automatic resuscitation when dying in 10 seconds

     

    NPC: to consult the Ranking of PvP and GvG and Points* obtained in the victories in any room. The Ranking would be monthly, awarding the prize to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place, then it would be reset automatically for next month

     

    *Points: Points would be awarded as follows:

    Victory consecutive ...

    1 win = 1 point

    5 wins = 10 points

    10 wins = 25 points

     

    Consecutive Defeats ...

    2 losses = -1 point

    5 losses = -3 points

    10 losses = -5 points

     

    Note: These points would be exchanged for items in an npc shop that would also need this npc rsrs ^^

    Saan po ba ako pwede kumuha ng server files na classic yung walang trans at 3rd job patch. yung parang Balik RO lang or Sarah server. maraming salamat po!

    you should allowed user to access root@localhost.   just do the % :D

     

     

    GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON *.* TO 'root'@'hostname' IDENTIFIED BY 'root' WITH GRANT OPTION;

    took me an hour to find how to grant "privileges" xD but its worthed xD! thank you!
