  1. You're using linux, so I suppose you installed emulator usual way, ie ./configure && make. In such case there should be conf/import folder already. It is created from conf/import-tmpl by make. If it didn't happen, just copy conf/import-tmpl to conf/import. Then you should just move all custom configuration settings to appropriate files in conf/import. For example, if you changed server name in conf/char-server.conf, copy this setting to conf/import/char_conf.txt and revert .conf file to its original state to avoid conflicts when updating. As for the second part, run git status and check which files are unmerged.
  2. So, if you place login and char server on host A, and map server on host B, you can't get past character selection? What happens if you put login and char on host B and map server on host A then? I mean, maybe it's a problem with connectivity from your game client to host B?
  3. I think that NPC solution is good enough, but I also thought it's worth pointing out that it's not the exact solution to OP's question, just to avoid confusion. It might not be obvious to everyone that this script only works if player logs in (but it should be )
  4. login_conf - nothing to configure here inter_conf - put SQL server info here (if it's on host A then use IP A, if it's on host B then IP B, etc); inter_conf should be the same on both machines, since all servers will use the same SQL database char_conf: login_ip: IP of machine where login server runschar_ip: IP of machine where char-server runs map_conf: char_ip: IP of machine where char-server runsmap_ip: IP of machine where map-server runs And of course set userid and passwd the same in map_conf, char_conf and login table in your SQL database.
  5. This will, however, not reset skills of all characters on the server, just all characters that fully logged in to the game.
  6. First of all, you shouldn't be really making changes to default conf files. That's what conf/import folder is for - it's not under CVS so you should put all your custom configurations settings there. However, it is not always possible to put your changes to separate files, for example when you make source code edits. In such case, you need to merge your modifications with updates coming from remote repository. Try doing what the message says. First commit changes to your copy of repository (your working copy is also a fully-featured repository) with git commit, and only then git pull to update.
  7. I know, but I want to have them for the sake of completness. Some time ago I started making update tracker for kRO client, that contained all client files (GRFs unpacked) and patches over the years. Unfortunately, I stopped updating it mid-2010, and meanwhile patch server was moved, and patches older than 2011-07 are no longer available for download.
  8. Hi guys Looks like I'll be back in business for a while. It's good to see *athena project continued.
