  1. Hello, I recently been observing patterns on the mob_db.conf and I have a few questions.

    1. How are final ATK and MATK influenced in game?

For example, Pupa. in mob_db.conf  has 1 Base ATK and 3 Base MATK

    {	Id: 1008	SpriteName: "PUPA"	Name: "Pupa"	Lv: 4	Hp: 66	Sp: 1	Exp: 36	JExp: 27	AttackRange: 1	Attack: [1, 3]	Def: 24	Mdef: 2	Stats: { Str: 11 Agi: 1 Vit: 3 Int: 3 Dex: 8 Luk: 6	}	ViewRange: 10	ChaseRange: 12	Size: 0	Race: 4	Element: (2, 1)	Mode: { Detector: true	}	MoveSpeed: 1000	AttackDelay: 1001	AttackMotion: 1	DamageMotion: 1	MvpExp: 0	Drops: { Phracon: 80 Chrysalis: 5500 Sticky_Mucus: 600 Guard_: 2 Shell: 1000 Sticky_Mucus: 600 Iron_Ore: 200 Pupa_Card: 1	}},

However in game it has 15 ~ 16 ATK and 9~10 MATK

    2. What is the relationship between: Attack Delay, Attack Motion, and Damage Motion?  what are the factors influencing them? and how can it be determined, balanced, or optimised?

Unfortunately I'm still not good with Hercules, so if anyone could point out sources which could help, it would give you a cookie! :)

Thank you very much in advance

  2. Bump.

Sorry for bumping an old thread.

The server I am playing at generates .dmp file automatically with gravity error, and I want to be able to read and find out the issue.

It's not in HEX so ROSeta can't help me.

I tried opening it with Miscrosoft Visual Video 14 (I'm using windows 8; yes ew.) But it will only give me the minidump summary, and cannot read it further.

If it's a sprite related error or some sort, I can somehow find the pathway related to the error by opening the .dmp file with notepad.

Oh also, I saw @@Dastgir's name amongst the mountain of jibberish. 3e075d243c1e1aaef14e48388719a79a.png

Wondering if you can help with guides on reading game generated .dmp file

So far this thread is hinting on creating core-generated.dmp files, or debugging your servers.

    Cheers

  3. index.php?app=downloads&module=display&section=screenshot&id=207

File Name: Rogue's Cape Sprite & Actor (Reworked)

    File Submitter: Shourei

    File Submitted: 17 Jul 2015

    File Category: Sprites & Palettes

Rogue's Cape Sprite by Davven Graphics.

I take no credit for the creation of the sprite.

However, the Actor is horrible, so I decided to reworked it.

The file contain only the sprites as it is put on the character.

Request can be made for re-creation of other parts of client side files if needed.

Please PM me if you encounter issues

  4. Hello everyone.

I go by Shourei or tsan79.

Up to recently I was only your average players, but for a certain person, I am going to have to learn and hopefully contribute to this project in the near future.

A little bit about my knowledge:

My only and strongest skill is pattern recognition.

Thanks to that, I have a little insight from lurking around, but mostly on spriting and maps-related; but, I have close to zero knowledge on RO-related or computer scripting (Don't even know how to GIT yet)

Thus if you seen my past bug threads you know why.

I will start off by reading sources that we already have, and asking lots of questions (I hope you don't mind, please help me!) - Eventually becoming an all rounder in both client and server side.

If you have any recommendation on where to start (from zero), please share!

    Thank you in advance!
