It's possible, don't be afraid to try Duplicating the skill and adding your customization on the dup might be the best idea though. You'd most likely be creating custom skills anyhow, unless the monster skill you wanted to use is already player ready. I would suggest reading http://herc.ws/wiki/Adding_new_skills see if you'll be able to understand a thing, if you're willing to learn and have a good learning attitude and time, drop me a PM.
