Ai4rei got a reaction from Ehwaz in Future of ROCred and RO Patcher Lite
Since there is no further movement in the poll, it concludes with the following result:

There will be a new "tool", that does both patching and launching (most likely RO Patcher Lite Core built atop ROCred UI). Majority of the RPI's floating around (p-server client survey) are plug-ins responsible for managing patch information, skinning and HTML patch news, which will be part of the new application, so there will be no plug-in system/API for the time being. The RO Patcher Lite API will probably be put on ice as well. No further efforts will be put into ROCred anymore, except bug-fixes (or "security patches" as some people love to word it). Thank you everyone who participated.
    Update 2015-12-23:
Currently struggling (for a few months now) with one of the most basic things: sockets.

    Update 2016-02-21:
Things are finally starting moving. While I still cannot state some ETA, sockets are being actively worked on, basically typing.

    Update 2016-09-29:
Sockets are complete, time to put all those puzzle pieces together.

    Update 2017-04-15:
The core still needs some work, but it starts to look good.

No real way to prevent editing of GRFs, you can only hinder the stupid portion of people doing that.
Either you modify (read "corrupt") the GRF format in a way, that makes common programs fail, and adjust your patcher and client to be able to deal with that. Or you make up your own format and make a patcher for it and add support to the client for it. Or make an edit to the client, that checks the checksums of all files in the grf, when the client is started to make sure the grf is not changed. This takes a few minutes to complete and will get old very quickly (to the players that is). Choose your poison.

    Edit:
I got an idea for one theoretical way, that could prevent others from making changes to the GRF, but still allow you to provide patches to it (granted the patcher does not touch the data, but just adds the files as-is, like RO Patcher Lite). This is just a theory, so I will have to make a proof of concept before making further claims~
    Edit:
Too easy to workaround for the effort needed.

Updated to 2.4.10, fixes mirror selection issues and adds an option to always patch from kRO mirrors.

For the time being this is probably the last update to RO Patcher Lite before ELUR is released.

    RO Credentials

    About
Simple and tiny client launcher+login. Has no prerequisites and runs on all Windows versions. Known Issues
[aavc] This tool is not safe for computers running Avast Anti-Virus. Download
binary, reference source Q & A Is it customizable?
    Yes. How?
With resource editing tools, such as ResourceHacker. All text and icons can be customized. Settings can be edited in an INI file, instructions on how to do that are provided in the example files together with the launcher. What is "reference source"?
You cannot compile it (unless you provide the missing components), but see what functionality the latest binary contains. I want it to be xyz.exe, but it does not read the INI file. Why?
You have to match the INI name to the EXE name. rocred.exe -> rocred.ini mytest.exe -> mytest.ini
How can I embed an INI file into the EXE?
Add the INI file as RCDATA resource named CONFIG with ResourceHacker. How do I use background skinning?
Create a file named bgskin.bmp (magenta #ff00ff is considered transparent). You can also embed the file as BITMAP resource with the name BGSKIN. Window size is adjusted to the bitmap size, position of controls must be set in the INI. Buttons can be skinned as well, see the INI for names.
Can I add custom buttons, if so, how many?
Yes, see the INI template for details. There is no defined limit on how many, the only constraints are available memory, GDI resources and INI size limit on some platforms. By the way, custom buttons can be skinned as well. Why does the client not auto-login when I press "Start" / Why do I have to login twice?
The client must be 2010-08-04aRagexeRE or newer and must not have the "Restore Login Window" patch and should have the "Use SSO Login Packet" patch.

Any specific resolutions? The client works in pretty much any configuration, including FullHD, both windowed and full screen. Though I'm aware of some graphics card+resolution combination that causes the screen to go ////, but haven't been able to reproduce it myself, yet.

    Should work now.

Updated to 2.4.9, fixes, among others, some elevation-related issues.

I assume that means the patcher should update multiple GRF's at the same time (parallel). There is no real benefit of doing so in comparison to patching one after another (sequentially). Actually the patch process will be slowed down if the connection is over-utilized or storage is a mechanical hard drive (delays through unnecessary seeking due to multitasking).

tl;dr: Already supported, except not in parallel, but sequentially.

Im usually a quiet person but today ive decided to open my mouth and say something since me and millions of other have had enough of youtube's content ID / copyright strike system which is now clearly doing more harm then good. The past 2 years have been bad and is only getting more and more worse over the passing months.

Its now 2016 and the year started with video's/channels being randomly taken down which turns out to be the work of some brothers who are trying to own the rights to "Reacting" to things. WTF IS THIS SHIT!?!?!?! SERIOUSLY????? Now people are coming out open to the public about whats been happening and out of all of this, youtube (google) doesn't appear to be doing anything. It seems its up to the internet to fix this.

A movement has started as this can not go on any longer. People are now asking "Where's The Fair Use?" as it seems to not exist anymore even tho there's copyright laws that's "supposed" to protect us. But somehow company's are getting through this.

Join the internet and let your voice be herd. ‪#‎WTFU‬. Post it, tweet it, talk about it, do whatever you can. Together we can beat this and get things back to the way they used to be. For a better understanding of the situation, watch this video....
