The beauty of programming, never underestimate what user can do with it.
Does the file have to replace with size 0 or can be removed? I need time to test edge cases like this, which probably 2,3 weeks later.

You want to create files with size 0? I'm not sure why would you want that...but like I said, I don't have the time to investigate right now, finals are coming.

You will have to use other method. If securegrf has the tool to generate grf then use that. You won't able to use .thor in that case.

One of the main things you'd have to know is that unlimited web hosting is a scam. 90% of hostings that are saying unlimited are lying because that isn't true (just imagine millions of clients buying cheap, unlimited web hostings and uploading all of their files just to have a backup, which would be rather silly). You should rather go for unmetered when looking for these. And trust me, you'd rather prefer to know your limits than having a hard limit (usually under a Fair Use clause in the Terms of Service) and not knowing where it is.

Just think, buying hard drives for your data is expensive and you may not know, but carriers charge data centers based on the amount of data traffic they consume. It's rather common to have unmetered data transfer on shared hostings (web hostings) since your host wants you to be able to serve your web to any legit who requests it (that's why it's common to find some terms of service in hosts that bans directly or indirectly making download sites on shared web hostings).

Now, if you want a paid web hosting, think what hard disk space you need. You won't usually need more than 10 GB unless you're running a massive site or using your space inefficiently. As I said, you usually won't have to mind about transfer, but if your transfer isn't on the unmetered side try to have it around the 100 GB mark to make it on a very safe mark (unless you're running sites with tons of visits).

    Hope this helped you.

A quick announcement: due to certain circumstances, ECMAScript/javascript support is cancelled.

Yea, go ahead and cry all you want.

Don't have much time recently. Got some portion migrated, but most importantly, I need get scripting support going since I do not want more hacks in the config file.

I would not accept such hacked addition entries to config file, it is a mess already. You will able to do what you wanted in upcoming major release, but I won't be adding more to config till then.

Hashing is more like hacking. It bloated the code base without making update client/patcher any easier. Also, there are many there just don't know how to do it, so what's the point when one can do the update using patch numbering.

Unfortunately if that doesn't work then it's not supported. You might work around by change to open URL mode as the code doesn't really open browser.
Sorry, client hash has been deprecated in last builds, patcher hashing likely after. They are NOT the solution to protect your client! In fact, there won't be any guarantee the GRF would be the same checksum even if you download whole thing in one piece.

    RagEffect Client Plug-In

    About
A client plug-in that replaces client's special effect table (.str) with data from an external database. This release is per request from Ragno on the rAthena boards with the permission to release it publicly.

    Known issues
Currently the file is not loaded from GRF, but from data folder only. The range of clients might be limited, tested with 2012-07-02aRE and 2013-12-23c. For further possible issues see the Simple DLL Loader for RO Clients topic.

Not much of github user, so not sure how +1 comment thing works.
But yea, great idea though. Those custom NPCs are outdated anyways.

I brought this topic up in the dev section but we want to get the community's input on this as well. Please see the suggestion below and let us know what your thought are on this.

This debate has been one that goes back to my days on eAthena's dev team, it was also brought up at rAthena, and now I'd like to bring it up here... I propose we remove the customs folder from the npc folder of the main repo. Now now, don't yell at me yet, I have an idea, allow me to explain.

We leave the conf files and keep an empty copy of the customs folder using a .gitkeep file. The customs npcs are then put in their own repo. This takes off the burden of keeping non-official NPCs supported / maintained in the main repo (which is meant to be an official-like RO experience out-of-the-box). Those that want the custom npcs folder in their repo can include it using git submodules.

Now here's where it gets interesting for you, the community. Because the customs folder would be its own repo, the community ultimately has the final say on what is added and removed from it. The community could contribute their own custom creations to the customs folder repo via pull requests, and then the community could vote on them via +1 comments on github. And because it's no longer in the main repo, we don't have to worry about how big the customs folder gets, nor worry about how we should go about picking what does or doesn't get included in it.

Basically the idea is to decouple the customs folder from the main repo, into its own repo, to be maintained and added to by the community.

    Thoughts?

Didn't RO picks color too? Many spr are using color other than that. I'm planning to support 8-bit png though, that should help with this and reduce file size.

Well, it doesn't have standard windows title buttons, obviously need something on that. They can make a button look like X if they wish.Maybe I should rename it to closeButton.. yea that shall do.

I haven't decided on declare those events yet though.

The current implementation is a mistake... Hex is fine as css uses it, but I didn't realize it wasn't in RGB.. it was in ABGR.. or was it AGRB? BGRA RBGA...geesh I don't even remember.. 'A'? hell, that's alpha, but it never worked anyways.

I'm planning completely change config format due in 2.7. Likely use standard format like json. In combination of script, might as well able to do something like Color:'RGB(random()%256,random()%256,random()%256)'
I'll take a look at image quality, never noticed anything about it myself. The transparent color in bmp is the pixel in top-left corner, if you set that to ff00ff, then it shall be the chosen one.
png isn't supported! I have been something with it recently, guess forgot to disable it. A lot more code refactor is needed to even start experiment with this. The performance would be.. well... suck..use opengl? maybe..
