conf/global/sql_connection.conf:1 - syntax error

Question

I am having the same problem as this topic.

I used the mariaDB.bat

and my conf/global/sql_connection.conf ended up having this.

sql_connection: {
    db_username: "hercules"
    db_password: "***"
    db_database: "hercules"
}

I updated the file to be the same as the one on github

sql_connection: {
	// [INTER] You can specify the codepage to use in your mySQL tables here.
	// (Note that this feature requires MySQL 4.1+)
	//default_codepage: ""

	// [LOGIN] Is `userid` in account_db case sensitive?
	//case_sensitive: false

	// For IPs, ideally under linux, you want to use localhost instead of 127.0.0.1.
	// Under windows, you want to use 127.0.0.1. If you see a message like
	// "Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (2)"
	// and you have localhost, switch it to 127.0.0.1
	db_hostname: "127.0.0.1"
	db_port: "3306"
	db_username: "hercules"
	db_password: "******"
	db_database: "hercules"
	//codepage:""
}

I am db name and username appears to be correct as i'm able to connect through mysql workbench.

Check the error in console.

[Error]: conf/global/sql_connection.conf:1 - syntax error.

Post your sql_connection with user/password removed, or check syntax yourself. Might be missing something, or unknown symbols somewhere.

Hi @Dastgir,

I already posted my sql_connection.conf on my initial post.

First the first one was auto generated after running mariaDB.bat

The second one was after I start troubleshooting and used the one on repository and editing my db info

this error mean you conf file corrupted

probably you using wrong text editor

try use editor what can show BOM char and also try not use windows end lines.

in other words get original file and edit it with safe editor.
