UPDATE: I was finally able to mount a Hercules server on Amazon EC2. Up and running. Playing as we speak. Will make a detailed guide. Moderators: Please close topic
Hi, my name’s Yushell, I’m 25 years old, and I’m a Web Developer in a Mexican digital agency. I specialize in .NET Development. I’ve been a fan of Ragnarok Online since I was 15 years old. Occasionally setting up a private server, at first using Aegis, then eAthena. And now I’d like to set up a renewal server using Hercules.
My goal is to set it up on an Amazon EC2 instance I have with Windows Server 2012. And I’ve followed every guide there is, line by line, but I haven’t been able to connect from the outside. I’ve opened up ports, made inbound rules for TCP and UDP, and I’ve even created rules for each port in Amazon’s Console, under Security Groups. But it’s been two weeks of trying and still can’t connect.
That’s why I decided to open this thread. Asking for help from anyone who’s willing to lend a hand.
I configured Hercules on the server, MySQL included. Installed the full installer and Small Client Package mentioned my Judas in http://herc.ws/b...client-package/
I extracted Hercules.grf, changed the IP in clientinfo.xml to the public IP of my instance, but still no connection.
Note: I’d like to contribute to Hercules in any way I can. And if I’m able to mount the server on my Amazon EC2 instance, I’ll make a guide for anyone that’d like to do the same.
