Installing my Emulator on my RagnarokHost

Hello,

 

Here's my problem i currently bought a hosting from RagnaHosting and i wanted to add my own emulator files [my edits]

RagnaHosting putted a Clean and working server inside the VNC and i tried to change it in to my own files then tried Starting the Server.. i doesn't start.. Anyone can help me?

Did you recompile first before running your fresh server?
Also make sure that the IP configuration is correct and SQL connection (Also make sure that you've installed the right database for your emulator)

Hello, i follow this step

 now my server almost worked but after opening the Start the Server.exe the 3 exes [Map,Login,Char] autoclose what is the problem?

Hercules cannot run with root (the user of the SSH/OS whatever) you must make a new user and config the details to prompt that user who is not root to execute the login/char/map. If you run root Hercules will automatically close (Used to not do this, but I guess was added so people make sure to keep some security?)

How can i make a not root that will execute login/char/map at config my server files, btw there is already a working hercules files inside of this VNC where bought from their host.. which is working when i start it but i want my own edits emulator to run not the default one... i've tried to contact the hosting and no response

I think you need to recompile your plugins?
when recompiling i'm using ./configure && make clean && make all
insteadof make sql

It is likely your host has a change in their files that makes Hercules running as root work. This is not recommended. You're basically giving full control over your OS to 1 program that is of a client/server architecture.

Create another user and use this to run Hercules. I believe the command on CentOS is

 

adduser <username>

Hi! i guess what you need to do is reset your vps in ragnahosting and then overwrite everything EXCEPT for the CONF folder
