  1. Interesting. So the very same version did not work by itself, but did as part of the full client package.

Please also check, if there isn't a hung (running but no window) instance in Task Manager. During start it checks whether it needs elevate before starting, so depending on the contents of the folder this check may take longer or get stuck for some reason. That would also explain, why no crash has been logged in event log.

  2. Updated to 2.17.0.573, adds live-testing of selected graphics settings, improves and fixes the UI and splits the default release (non-ROZ) into separate Lua and Registry versions, because switching at run-time was confusing and led people into spectacular trouble-shooting fails.

Updated to 2.18.0.578, adds support for alternative ROExt DLL names and restores visual cue the Registry and Lua versions (just the look, no switching).

Updated to 3.0.0.603, adds support for new clients that are optionally capable of rendering in DirectX 9.

Updated to 3.1.0.627, adds support for the 2018'ish variant of ROExt (dinput8) in addition to the old one and fixes display resolution selection not working correctly.

  3. Updated to 4.1.5, fixes reusage of waste in GRF archives was not enabled (ever since its introduction in 4.0.0). Depending on amount of wasted space, some archives may shrink in response to being updated. It also fixes the /testpak command reporting Sakray/Test archives as corrupted.

Updated to 4.1.6, fixes mirror server fallback from a different mirror server not working correctly.

Updated to 4.2.0, now processes updates of the official patcher immediately, so that the RO client does not have to restart for that. It also fixes two minor issues and updates to zlib 1.2.13.

  4. Elurair already supports updating encrypted GRFs/GPFs (such as SecureGRF).

Normally there is no added benefit to using Thor files other than compatibility with previous patcher, since Thor files are not encrypted as far as I know.

    2022-01-22:

    - ZIP support complete

    - RAR is held until I'm bored enough to enter that source code abyss and figure out, how to make it open something other than files

  5. Both formats will need some work.

Originally I thought, RAR might be easier, but turns out, unrar expects a physical file, rather than an arbitrary data stream (patches are only offloaded to disk, if the OS deems that necessary). There are also few the problems with RAR6, but should be fixable in a way or another.

    ZIP should be relatively easy.

There won't be support for password-protection and encryption.

  6. RAGP Extractor

    npa.png

    About

Rudimentary command-line tool to extract RAGP files (such as the assets in Ragnarok: Valkyrie Uprising).

    Usage

    unragp <file>

    Extracts <file> into current directory.

    Known Issues

Because I wrote it on a whim to check out Ragnarok: Valkyrie Uprising game resources, there are no error messages. Either the program ends in OK or NG.

  7. Updated to 4.1.3, this release fixes an assertion when applying optimized patches.

Updated to 4.1.4, this release adds support for the new, short-lived (2021-11-03 ~ 2021-11-17) kRO Sakray server. This is a different server from the one removed in 4.1.2 and requires a new full client. There is no mirror support for this one and it is released only as part of the bundle package.
