Hercules' Staff Changes
 
Staff Changes

As some of you may have noticed or will notice, Hercules as been going through some staff changes; especially between myself, Judas, and jaBote. As with every other change done to Hercules, we believe these changes between the staff will be more beneficial for the community at a large and with the staff. 
 
Judas and I have been appointed to Forum Manager and no longer a Global Moderator. We were competent enough and proved ourselves that we were able to manage the community while the Administrators were busy with other things. Of course, we were excited to have taken this offer that was given to us!
 
That's not all! Since jaBote joined the team as an International Moderator, he became very enthusiastic and has shown his capability of managing not just his own International Community, but also the rest of the forums. For this, we thought it was best for jaBote to get promoted to a Global Moderator! Also, not to fright! The Spanish Community will still be moderated by jaBote even though he is a Global Moderator.


Staff Applications
 
With the recent changes done, the Staff Applications have been moved under the tab "Others" rather than removed. For those who still wish to become part of Hercules' staff, you may do so by applying through the Staff Application process!

This is to let you know about a very prominent bug that Hercules just squashed. The prominent bug
As brought up by Beret here, when a character possessing warlock spheres comes into another character's sight, the spheres are not displayed -- unless you were in the character's range when he created them. This bug was not exclusive to warlock spheres' effect: Camouflage Duplelight Oratio Freezing Venom Impress Hallucination Walk Rolling Cutter Banding Crystalize Deep Sleep Cursed Circle Blood Sucker Shadow Form Manhole This bug has now been fixed, as of today the visual effects of all the skills above should be working as they should.

Any chance that this mapflag can be modified to specifically adjust damage for monster, player, mvp, similar to liliths modifier?

Thanks to k3dt for upacking the clients, we have access to 2013-03 where new skills were added. RagexeRE are compiled differently so at the moment, it can't be used unless someone finds a way.
 
Anyway, this topic is mainly for support in trying to get ragexe working since it seems that it will prove more useful than RagexeRE.

I don't have the translations/translated lub files that rytech has, but here is the 2 new skills in the skill list.
 

 
 
Problems faced so far:
ALT+W (For Cart) won't work anymore. I tried last time on RagexeRE, and I assume the same problem on Ragexe. It says prohibit to use in area. (Packet related?)

 
Method to log in:
Note: This process is only for testing for now, since the client still needs to be diffed with the necessary patches.
ragexe.exe -1rag1 /account:sci.xml -t:blah blah server
(In bat file) where sci.xml is in the data folder
  In mysql, create a new account with no ID/Pass, and set the group_id to 99 to get a gm account
Reason for this is due to the xml settings and the client isn't fully patched
You may see in your console, accept account ID(blank) with password(blank)
  When you login, you can login with the blank account and log in with your character
I had to manually create a character in mysql though, I got "Not Available" in my char select screen
  Once done, login, and you see your character you made. Toggle right and back to your character to login to the account. If you don't, then enter won't do anything.

 
Over the few days, if no one has done it yet, I'll keep applying some patches to the client so it'll be easier to test

You can't patch rAthena diffs into Hercules so easily. Hercules' Source has gone through some major overhauling and to simply put it in real terms, you can't patch diffs that were made for rAthena automatically towards Hercules. You would need to change the diff a little bit to fit Hercules' source code since Hercules and rAthena has a different source structure.

Skill ID Processing Overhaul
Hello~! - What?!
Yet another super-ultra-mega improvement, brought to you by Hercules. Improvement
This is a monster improvement, map server's memory usage was dropped by no less than 38MB Processing on a number of areas that rely on this have improved, much faster e.g. skill tree calculation. This also prepares the game server to receive the new skills that have id of 5k or higher (e.g. Dragon Breath Water) Changes
This changes how skills are stored during runtime for players, if you have any modifications on that you will want to update them before getting this update in your server. mob_max_skilllvl config was dropped, this limitation no longer exists (e.g. if you make a monster cast lvl 1000 jupitel thunder it'll do 1k hits) reintroduced, accidentally removed (misunderstood function) Special Thanks
