  1. Hey everyone! I've been working on another site for an upcoming server. I'd like to show everyone the theme. Please keep in mind that the name 'Ragnarok Renewal' and the logo at the top is not the server's real identity; just dummy data. The site is mobile responsive, adapts to your screen size, has automatic rss feeds that can be pulled from different URLs, and the theme is basically very light with tons of lightness throughout the theme. There are also parallax affects on the cover images.

     

    This is not your basic "all ro, need to see everything" design. As in, you won't see scrolling slideshows,  or pvp banners, woe banners, etc.

  2. So I read up on past development plans for the game and how there were plans in the works to make all the mvp mobs 3D. Anyone ever try this or know how this would be done?

     

    Well I'm not sure about MvPs but I know people have been working on porting 3D models into RO such as a class from ToS and other monsters. 


  3. I'm adding items and monsters of lasagna but I want the NPCs, warps, quests too.. Someone have then? How can I build the NPCs myself? Where do I get information about NPC speach and system?

     

    Straight from kRO. Unless iRO has it.... if they do, you can use iRO.

    I'm good. Thanks for asking. What I mean is, I don't condone using the old source code in any way since of course, it's extremely outdated. What I mean is, you need to take the NPCs and mobs / mob spawns from that old emulator since basically that's what you want. If you want to run with just 2-1 and 2-2 classes, remove the job changer or edit it to only allow changes to those classes. If you remove it, make the job changing questable.

  8. Pretty much what Dastgir mentioned. You would typically @kickall, let things save, then close the servers. Once you kick everyone off, you're pretty much safe... if you just close the map server without kicking anyone, well then you're not safe lol. So typically, kick everyone, wait a few seconds and close the servers. I normally just closed them one by one starting with login --> char --> map... but that's because that was just me xD

    Herc is dead.

     

     

    Just because rAthena may have it, doesn't mean anything that 'Herc' is dead. The developers are always active in the repository... you would notice if you stopped and visited it sometime rather than replying with something that has no context in this topic or anywhere else for that matter.

With my recent RO mobile news found here, https://www.midgard-community.com/forums/topic/1281-ro-mobile-remaking-classic-ragnarok-cards/ RO mobile is re-making the classic cards so that they fit more into the new game. With that in mind, I decided to do a little editing myself so that you can use the image to replace the old ones in-game. I will be releasing the card images in two different 'styles' per-say. So far, here is Anubis.

    The RE / PRE folders have map_caches in them ... so if you are running the server on prerenewal, the old izlude map should be loaded from the pre folder.

     

     

    But then don't they have to find all the old map files that correspond to the map_cache? Or does data.grf have all original maps and rdata the renewal maps?

     

    If you plan on making a Pre-RE server, disable all the scripts / NPCs, enable Pre-Renewal mode in src/config/renewal.h and also from there make sure to not use the rdata GRF. To save your client space

     

     

    They have to make sure they have the old maps in their GRF as well. The mapcache is used for the map walk paths.
