    Hercules Battlegrounds
    A full conversion and enhancement of eAmod's Battlegrounds system into a easy-to-install Hercules plugin library.

    Installation
    1) Place plugin files in plugin directory. (If you wish to re-compile the code, please do so the standard way.)
    2) Place all script files in the default directory provided in the repository (or your own).
    3) Place all database and config parts in their respective files.
    4) in conf/plugins.conf add "hBG".

    There were some memory leaks that were untreated before, the recent PRs made it worse but its fixed now.
    As for the char server error, it's been fixed too. All in the latest commit.

    Unfortunately I couldn't figure out how to send an announcement once the timer is up.

    While I really want this to succeed I have my doubts. I've been involved with this community for many, many years (since 2005 / 12+ years).
    I've seen so many "new RO client", "custom RO client", "client rewrite", "open source client" projects, and absolutely none of them have succeeded. They all get to at least this stage:
    Map Viewer Chat Character creation / rendering Then they stop being interested in developing it, get burnt out and then quit. Biggest issue they all have? So far, out of the 5 or 6 projects I've seen pop up since 2005, only one of them ever shared their source code. If you're going to actively pursue this goal, share the code. Open source it and invite in more developers. Having it closed source + paid / donations to get access is going to get you in deep legal shit with Gravity. Do not think "oh they can't" or "they don't know who I am" or "they can't find me", believe me it's not hard. They know who pretty much everyone is irl that has massive contributions within the athena community.
    Open source it as an educational project, do not advertise it as an "RO Client". Like with athena, advertise it as an "MMORPG Client". Make a solid core framework that you can then extend with RO specifics to build a client capable of running RO.
    There are many old school athena developers who would join this project if you simply opened it up and had some serious noticeable progress on it.
    Do not make the same mistake as all those other dead projects.

    Hey all,
    I had an idea to implement the ultimate storage system with which users of Hercules would be able to create as many storages as they want without a hassle. And so I worked on Hercules Ultimate Storage System (HUSS). The basic idea of the design has been completed and at this point it is ready to be tested. I wanted to gather suggestions to further extend the system, hence this topic.
    To test the system, simply visit my fork of Hercules in the storages branch and clone it.
     
    Storage.conf Example Entry
    { Id: (int) (required|unique) Unique Identifier Name: (string) (required) Name of the storage sent to the client. Capacity: (int) (required) Maximum capacity of the storage. }
    All storages are handled with dynamic arrays that will save a tonne of memory if and when created.
    They are saved in the same storage database (SQL) as the original separating them by a storage identifier.
    An infinite number of storages can be created, there are no limits.
    The current design implementation only allows saving/loading of approximately 1600 items per storage due to packet size limits.
     
    Script Command Changes
    *openstorage(<storage_id>{, <storage_mode>}) Default Storage Access Mode: STORAGE_ACCESS_ALL This will open character's Kafra storage window on the client connected to the invoking character. It can be used from any kind of NPC or item script, not just limited to Kafra Staff. The storage window opens regardless of whether there are open NPC dialogs or not, but it is preferred to close the dialog before displaying the storage window, to avoid any disruption when both windows overlap. mes("I will now open your stash for you"); close2(); openstorage(1); end; Storage Modes: STORAGE_ACCESS_VIEW // View storage only STORAGE_ACCESS_GET // Allow getting items from storage. STORAGE_ACCESS_PUT // Allow putting items to storage. STORAGE_ACCESS_ALL // Allow all actions.

    Hello everybody !
    I'm working about two years on writing a complete new RO client. I hadn't so much time, as I'd wish, but now it's almost ready for a basic gameplay.
    So what are the advantages of having own RO client ?
    RO doesn't depend anymore on Koreans. It gives an ability for releasing of any new feature, whatever the players want: new 3D mobs, dynamically generated locations, everything you want.
    The client is cross-platform and can work on Windows, Linux, Mac OS X and Android natively.
    Thanks to using of new computer graphics features, the client works faster, consumes fewer resources, providing better graphics. For example, it loads a location instantly(to be more precise, it takes ~15 ms to load a map) - so no waiting anymore !
    What are the features we have today ?
    Dynamic shadows and per-pixel shading(no strange blur on the ground anymore!).
    Correct rendering of all the sprites and locations including all the animations on the locations.
    Rendering the best part of effects.
    The most part of UI.
    All the network communications with server.
    But there are some missing features: some part of UI(skill UI for example), and some in-game interactions are missed. But all these will be fixed soon.
    I would find those who are interested in that project, because it will be the only project, which will be used on the servers providing better game experience.
    Also, a development of the project requires some means and other help, so if you have a mind and in the position, you can write to me in PM or in these comments.

    Alright, did you ever had this awkward feeling, that you have done nearly everything on your Raspberry Pi and short of ideas and looking for new stuff to do on your Raspberry Pi?
    Well, that's kinda my situation here...

    I've done nearly everything? things that I've already done:
    - Custom SSH Welcome Screen (Made myself because everything I've found out there was missing key information I wanted to have at every login...)
    - Many Websites with free Https:// SSL certificate with A+ grade and email 9/10 grade so taht my spamms would go to inbox instead of spam folder...
    - Ragnarok Online Private servers Hercules and rAthena (I liked to work with Herc better )
     
    - MineCraft private server (LOL waaaaaat?)
     
    - My personal self hosted Cloud storage (Like DropBox) with OwnCloud NextCloud 
     
    - GIT repositories management app GOGs
    - Web Note taking APP (Like Evernote) Paperwork
    - A solution allowing  Automatically backing up a list of databases  into a password protected archives and send them to a cloud (DropBox GoogleDrive etc.)
    Put together myself, as solution available are part of complex expert systems...
     
    - Cloud  web IDE cloud 9 Allowing me to code anything anywhere (any computer with a web)
     
    It's allowing me to Edit configs, NPCs, sources and  plugins of my live server
    then just rebuild it using integrated command line, super useful....
    - I run till today an OSMC media player capable of running Youtube on my 49" tv and streaming portals to watch Hentai and Kawai Anime Friday after shool!
     
    So, yeah, I'm looking for new challenges but feels like that's all this world has to offer... and it was easy...
     
    Any ideas?
    Just remember, I'm a school kid. I have money just for chewing gum and lunch at school.
    Things to do have to be Public or Semi Private or Private that you can provide for free or OpenSource

    Achievement.conf files are available in db/<pre-re or re>/ folders. Edit as you will.
    There's also an achievement.conf generator in the tools/ACHConfGen folder that will generate your configuration files if you have an achievement_list.lub file in the folder.

    So I've worked on a difference checker between the fields of some rAthena and Hercules database files.
    This could help people or devs or users do quick lookups for differences.
     
    Key Features
    The differences are listed in libconfig format to make things easier for people trying to merge or lookup entries between rAthena and Hercules.
    It lists only the differences if any. (Except ID and Name field for quick lookups).

    I already have it working on my local Hercules branch. A big thanks to @Asheraf for providing information from kRO. This will be available for Hercules as and when it support the newer clients.

    To test the system, simply visit my fork of Hercules in the storages branch and clone it.
     
    Storage.conf Example Entry

    All storages are handled with dynamic arrays that will save a tonne of memory if and when created.
    They are saved in the same storage database (SQL) as the original separating them by a storage identifier.
    An infinite number of storages can be created, there are no limits.
    The current design implementation only allows saving/loading of approximately 1600 items per storage due to packet size limits.
     
    Script Command Changes
    *openstorage(<storage_id>{, <storage_mode>}) Default Storage Access Mode: STORAGE_ACCESS_ALL This will open character's Kafra storage window on the client connected to the invoking character. It can be used from any kind of NPC or item script, not just limited to Kafra Staff. The storage window opens regardless of whether there are open NPC dialogs or not, but it is preferred to close the dialog before displaying the storage window, to avoid any disruption when both windows overlap. mes("I will now open your stash for you"); close2(); openstorage(1); end; Storage Modes: STORAGE_ACCESS_VIEW // View storage only STORAGE_ACCESS_GET // Allow getting items from storage. STORAGE_ACCESS_PUT // Allow putting items to storage. STORAGE_ACCESS_ALL // Allow all actions.

    Hey everyone,
     
    It has been long overdue to bridge over to IPB4... but we are finally here. We ran into a few issues with the transition but we got the forum running within an hour. The forum is now accessible for everyone (maintenance is over), but keep in mind that there are still batches being processed in the backend which may make your experiences in browsing / posting sluggish. Over the next few hours/days, I will be working on the forum; reorganizing a few things, fine tuning, etc.
